The Translatability of Morphological Neologisms in Jorge Enrique Adoum’s poetry

The poetry of Jorge Enrique Adoum is characterized by a generalized use of a transgression esthetic which highlights the poet’s concerns, whether they be love, Latin America, literature, oppression or his relationship with life. It comes alive with the use of denser and denser neologisms as the author refines a literary and poetic style that will make him a leader in the reinvention of the Ecuadorian literary identity and its cultural influence in South America. Here we propose a literary macro-analysis and a poetic micro-analysis of his work in view of the importance of its neological burden in order to derive a theorem on neological translation in poetry based on several theoretical hypotheses concerning floating analysis and poetic translation. Finally, we put this theorem into practice by applying it to the translation of several emblematic poems of the network compression of significance which dominates Adoum’s poetic canon.
