The Senescyt has just changed its requirements for registering foreign degrees. Although in the past they accepted degrees in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Italian without an official translation this is no longer the case. Now they don´t accept degrees in any language but Spanish if they are not officially translated.

REQUIREMENTS

If you want to register or homologate your degree in Ecuador, the requirements are now as follows:

• Original citizen identity card or passport with a copy in the case of foreigners or non-residents.
• Original degree, duly apostilled or legalized in an Ecuadorian consulate in the home country.
• Contact information of the foreign university where you studied: official email (with the domain name of the university), mailing address and a person to contact, including a phone number.
• If the university diploma is not in Spanish, an official, authorized translation must be attached:9h05 del Ecuador.

Remember that all foreign documents must be apostilled or legalized by an Ecuadorian consulate, otherwise they will reject your degree.

If your degrees or grade reports are not in Spanish, you need to have them translated at a certified and recognized translation agency such as 9h05 del Ecuador.

Senescyt no longer accepts degrees and grade reports in any language but Spanish. If it is French, English, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch, German or any other language, it must be translated by an official and recognized translation center such as 9h05 del Ecuador, which will finish your degree translation in the shortest time in the market.
